A Robot Tomb Rider Explores The Great Pyramid

Great Pyramid O Gyza

A high tech "tomb rider" robot helps scientist to find out about one of the biggest mysteries. But it has unlocked one mystery only to reveal another. The Great Pyramid (the Pyramid of Khufu, or Cheops in Greek) at Gizeh, Egypt, demonstrates the remarkable character of its placement on the face of the Earth.

A robotic probe sent to explore beyond a mysterious stone seal inside the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, has unlocked one mystery only to reveal another.
On Tuesday evening, the Pyramid Rover crawled 64 metres along a 20 cm2 tunnel in the centre of the pyramid. On reaching the end, it drilled through a mysterious stone obstruction resembling a type of door often used to guard a burial chamber.

But after passing a camera through drilled hole, the probe found only a second door blocking its way.
Archaeologists had hoped the mission would finally solve the puzzle of the tunnel’s purpose and its peculiar obstruction. Some had even dared to hope that priceless archaeological treasures might lie beyond the seal.

But Zahi Hawass of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities, was excited by the new discovery. “It’s another sealed door. This is very important,” Hawass told the National Geographic Society, which televised the exploration.

The tunnel extends upwards at 40? from a compartment at the centre of the pyramid known as the Queen’s Chamber. It is possible the shaft was designed for symbolic or religious reasons because it points towards the star Sirius and the constellation Orion.
But the obstruction at the end of the passage poses a mystery. It is made of limestone, which is normally only used to seal individual chambers, and has two brass handles attached.
The expedition was co-ordinated by the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities and the Giza Plateau Mapping Project at Chicago University in the US. US company iRobot has spent six months designed and constructing the $250,000 probe.
The Great Pyramid of Giza is one of the oldest structures on the face of the Earth. The monument was supposedly built by the Egyptian Pharaoh Khufu of the Fourth Dynasty around the year BC 2560 to serve as a tomb when he died. It took 100,000 people working over a twenty year period to construct.

Location

The Great Pyramid (the Pyramid of Khufu, or Cheops in Greek) at Gizeh, Egypt, demonstrates the remarkable character of its placement on the face of the Earth.
The Pyramid lies in the center of gravity of the continents. It also lies in the exact center of all the land area of the world, dividing the earth’s land mass into approximately equal quarters.
The north-south axis (31 degrees east of Greenwich) is the longest land meridian, and the east-west axis (30 degrees north) is the longest land parallel on the globe. There is obviously only one place that these longest land-lines of the terrestrial earth can cross, and it is at the Great Pyramid! This is incredible, one of the scores of features of this mighty structure which begs for a better explanation.
One very unusual feature of the Great Pyramid is a concavity of the core that makes the monument an eight-sided figure, rather than four-sided like every other Egyptian pyramid. That is to say, that its four sides are hollowed in or indented along their central lines, from base to peak. This concavity divides each of the apparent four sides in half, creating a very special and unusual eight-sided pyramid; and it is executed to such an extraordinary degree of precision as to enter the realm of the uncanny. For, viewed from any ground position or distance, this concavity is quite invisible to the naked eye. The hollowing-in can be noticed only from the air, and only at certain times of the day. This explains why virtually every available photograph of the Great Pyramid does not show the hollowing-in phenomenon, and why the concavity was never discovered until the age of aviation. It was discovered quite by accident in 1940, when a British Air Force pilot, P. Groves, was flying over the pyramid. He happened to notice the concavity and captured it in the now-famous photograph.

When we look at mythic history for the story of the origins of the Great Pyramid, we discover that the monument was not attributed to any Pharaoh, but was the product of the genius and higher learning of the Gods of Old. Time and time again, from the Roman Marcellinus to the Coptic Al Masudi and the Arab Ibn Abd Alhokim, the recounters of the ancient legends tell how the Pyramid was built to preserve the knowledge of a magnificent civilization from destruction by a Flood, and that it was this Flood which brought the Age of the Gods to its tragic end. The various Chronologies of Legendary Rulers place a minimum date for the Age of the Gods as circa 10,000 B.C. This is the time frame Plato, in his Timaeus and Critias, ascribed the destruction of Atlantis. And it is also this date, as can be proven in modern scientific studies, which was highlighted by major climatic, geologic and geomagnetic disturbances, accompanied by massive paleo-biological extinctions in the planet, marking the division point between the Ice Age and the Present Era.
