"Pass the Flame" - "Na to Fos", Is The Official Song of the Olympic Torch Relay 2004
The first Torch Relay in the history of the Olympic Games with the catchword "Our flame unites the world" as any other torch relay has her own song.
The song “Pass the flame” is released by EMI with the permission of ATHENS 2004. The CD single with three different versions of the song (English lyrics, Greek lyrics and instrumental) is released in Tuesday 30 of March in Greece and in a few days all over the world.
The songwriter of “Pass The Flame” is the famous composer and producer Trevor Horn who has collaborated with some of the most famous artists of the world (Paul Mc Cartney, Bryan Ferry, Pet Shop Boys, Cher, Art of Noise ...) and he was awarded this year with the award of the “Producer of the Year” at the World Music Awards. He wrote the song with his partner Lol Creme. The Greek lyrics are written by Lina Nikolakopoulou. At both languages the performer of the song is Yiannis Kotsiras.
The recordings took place at “Sarm West” Studios of London and the back vocals are made by famous singers from all over the world reminding the spirit of the universal torch relay.
The Olympic Flame is going to light up at 54 counties in Greece and at 33 cities at the 5 continents.
“Pass the flame” with the voice of Yiannis Kotsiras is going to accompany the Flame at this trip.
